From Eugene Weekly:

Shortly before Christmas, we discovered that EW had been the victim of embezzlement at the hands of someone we once trusted. We are still counting up the damage, but it’s thousands upon thousands. The theft of EW’s funds remained hidden for years and has left our finances in shambles. A team of private forensic accountants is analyzing our books and accounts. We’ve reported the thefts to the Eugene Police Department, which is conducting an investigation.

We’ve discovered that many companies we do business with — vendors who turned out to be very patient — haven’t been paid in months. EW employees who thought they were paying into retirement accounts have learned the money never arrived at its destination. We had to lay off the entire 10-person staff EW three days before Christmas. One of our biggest creditors, our printer, says it will print EW again only if we pay upfront.

The WOW Hall is hosting a three-band lineup to support the Eugene Weekly. All proceeds will go to their cause.

Wellington Drive

Drawing on Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Beatles, and Simon & Garfunkel for inspiration, Wellington Drive fully delivers in 3-part harmonies, subtle and sparkling keyboard and guitars, and exciting arrangements of original songs and well-known classics. You won’t want to miss this Pacific Northwest Americana Trio.

The Back 40

The Back 40 is Connectarine’s acoustic side project: their “camping lineup.” With a unique blend of alternative, bluegrass, and classic rock, The Back 40’s intricate harmonies and juicy mandolin-viola jams reinterpret old favorites and will have you belting along to their rocking original hooks.
The Check
The Check formed in 2017 as an acoustic duo consisting of Boris Canani on guitar and vocals and Jay Panger on guitar and mandolin. From old time stringband music to 80s pop tunes and random stuff in between, the Check’s got you covered. Went electric for a while but back on the acoustic scene with Nat Embry on bass. Making good times great again.
