On Tuesday, October 31st, the Community Center for the Performing Arts proudly welcomes Taleen Kali, Rest Without Relaxation, Bliss Foxx, Titsweat, and Only Only for a Halloween Show at the WOW Hall!
Taleen Kali
Hailing from her native Los Angeles, Taleen Kali composes romantic punk songs wrapped in layers of shoegaze, psychedelia, and riot grrrl grunge, creating a cosmic sound that’s dreamy and defiant alike. With fiery live sets and swirling sonics, her band has quickly become a staple in the L.A. music underground.
Taleen Kali’s first full-length album, “Flower Of Life,” is out March 3, 2023 on Dum Dum Records. It was produced by The Smashing Pumpkins’ Jeff Schroeder and Josiah Mazzaschi (Child Seat, Bizou, Light FM), and recorded at The Cave Studio, home to records by The Jesus and Mary Chain, IDLES, and members of Slowdive, The Smiths, Lush, The Kills, Warpaint, and Happy Mondays.
The title track debuted as the album’s first single on KEXP April 2022, and the final single, “Crusher,” premiered on KEXP and KCRW. The band is currently on their 2nd full U.S. tour in support of “Flower Of Life.”
Rest Without Relaxation
Bliss Foxx
Bliss Foxx is cheeky yet sincere; denoting an amalgamation of influences that span distinct decades with primarily punk roots. At first blush, early 90s alternative rock and riot grrrl era elements are clear, but you’ll also hear influences of the “loudQuietloud” era with hints power pop. Raw fierce flippant powerfully catchy lyrics emote an overall mood that’s flirtatious as much as it wry.
Titsweat
Titsweat is a queer and rowdy three piece act out of Eugene, Oregon. They describe their music as “garage glam” – catchy riffs and pop sensibility with a heavy coating of fuzz, lipstick, and sweat (obviously). Whether they are belting out abrasive ballads about DaVinci paintings or thrilling anthems about daddy issues, they promise a passionate and dynamic performance. Gracie, Alyssa and Russell met on craigslist and gathered in a sweltering garage to create the first drops of Titsweat during the pandemic. They have emerged into the Eugene scene, toured up and down the west coast and are ready to spread their wings and tit sweat far and wide!
