Terrapin Flyer
The show began with a poem recited by one of the original Merry Pranksters — Ken Babbs — while the band provided musical backing. From there the band went right into a lively performance of the Grateful Dead’s big 19987 comeback single “Touch of Grey” that immediately got the crowd riled up, and the music didn’t stop for hours thereafter. Eugene was a second home for the Grateful Dead for decades, and it’s wonderful to see that while we’ve all gotten a little older and hopefully a little wiser, the bus ride hasn’t stopped yet. Thanks Deadheads for coming out and going further with us for a busy Grateful weekend with Terrapin Flyer Thursday and Steely Dead Saturday.
